Chef Giovanni's grandparents were all born in Sicily!  This is a photo of Sicily's beautiful Mount Etna at twilight, taken by Chef Giovanni!


Chef Giovanni has a Masters degree in Medical Microbiology, and worked for over 20 years as head of a Microbiology laboratory in an industrial setting.


He got his start in professional cooking, by assisting the chef at his church, cooking for the monthly men’s dinner. After the chef moved away, Chef Giovanni took over from him. He started getting ovations for his church meals, and the men began asking him to teach them to cook!


He began cooking for people, primarily in the Hamptons, as a personal chef. Whenever he would go to a job, he'd always bring a container of Seasoned Marcona Almonds as a gift (”Thank you for letting me cook for you!”). He’d also give the nuts to family and friends. Now, people started asking where they could purchase them.


Because of the demand, in 2010, he started selling the nuts at Farmers’ Markets, and then through retailers.  His  product line has expanded from 2 flavors of Marcona Almonds, to 14 flavors of Marcona Almonds, Cashews, and Unsalted Mixed Nuts, and he no longer cooks for anyone but family and friends. He also has 11 delicious flavors of Crushed-Pepper Hot Sauces.
